NBA: Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks Preview, Odds, Prediction

November 1, 2021 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

The Miami Heat have started the season furiously, and they hope to be in the same mode after the game against the Dallas Mavericks. These two sides meet on Tuesday night, in a highly competitive contest at the American Airlines Center. The Heat have been terrific, pounding the rivals constantly, posting some pretty big wins so far. On the other side, the Mavs, too, aren’t looking bad. Since Jason Kidd took over, there has been a noticeable improvement on the defensive end of the floor, which brings results.

Preview

Miami Heat (5-1, +105) has four wins in a row, all of them by at least a 13-point margin. In three of those events, Heat held the rivals under 100 points scored, while on the other side, delivering at least 106. They would even beat the Nets on the road, 106-93.

So far, they’ve shown the most of all the teams in the league, looking confident and strong, especially in the moments when the game is on the line. The defense, offense, everything is perfect.

Three of their players drop 20 or more points, Jimmy butler with 25.3, Tyler Herro 22 (off the bench), and Bam Adebayo 20.6 with 14 boards, but the strong center won’t be available, according to the latest intel. Though, they should be taken with reserve. The Heat defense is superb, boosted with the veteran Kyle Lowry and Markieff Morris, and many tend to forget that.

Dallas Mavericks (4-2, -125) are also very good. Their improvement came on the defensive end, as Jason Kidd demanded more effort in that aspect of the game. Don’t get us wrong, the Mavs are still among the top 10 worst defensive teams in the NBA, but compared to how they used to play before, the current performances are excellent.

Meanwhile, the offense is still among the best, in all the important statistical categories, such as points scored, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, etc. We are sure that with Kidd as the head coach, the Mavs will be even better and better as time goes by. And also, we do expect to see them making some big trade in the future.

Luka is the man in the middle with 22.5 points, 8.5 boards, and 7.5 assists. But the one who creates the difference is Tim Hardaway jr. The writer of these lines has a saying that whenever he dops 20+ points, the Mavs are sure to win. He currently averages 13.3 buckets in 30 minutes and is the second-best scorer.

Head to Head Games

Mavs won both matches in the 2021 season, the first one at home 93-83, and after that 127-113 on the road in Florida. Previously, the Heat had six victories in a row.

Prediction

On one side, Adebayo won’t play, while on the other, Porzingis isn’t available as well. So these two are nullifying one another. When looking at the remaining players, we believe that the Heat are better, and seeing them being the underdogs here simply forces us to go bet on their victory. Just as a matter of precaution, our suggestion involves the spread, which is +2 on the guests. The odds are fine anyway, -110.

Pick: Miami Heat +2 -110
