NBA Playoffs: Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat Game 4 Preview, Odds, Prediction

May 24, 2022 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

The series between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat are tied at 2-all, and it promises a lot of fun. Both teams have subsequently posted victories, making a break on the road and performing well in the situations when needed. Injuries are troubling both Udoka and Spoelstra, but to be honest, even with all that, this series is by far the most interesting in the playoff so far. This is a war to the extinction, and be sure that as the series goes forward, the intensity on the court only becomes higher.

Preview

Boston Celtics (-125) had a monstrous defensive performance in Game 4. The Cs jumped out on the rivals early on, outscoring them 29-11 in the opening quarter of the event. After that, they would calmly keep the lead and close the game, using hard defense and solid offensive productivity.

Tatum scored 31 points with eight boards. JT was the first option in the attack throughout the entire event, and there was no solution for the skinny forward on the other end. Four more players had 10 or more points.

Payton Pritchard got off the bench to score 14, Derrick White had 13, while Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams III ended the event with 12 points each. Though, all of them were very good on the glass, combining for 24 boards, and White also added six assists. He was a perfect replacement for Marcus Smart.

Miami Heat (+105) were heavily pressured with injuries. They were without Tyler Herro, and several other players were struggling with minor problems but appeared on the court. This is the story of the Heat in the playoffs during the past few years.

Game 4 saw two of their starters finishing without any points, and not a single one reached 10 points. Jimmy Butler had six points with seven boards, Bam Adebayo ended with nine. After a while, both were summoned to the bench as Spoelstra wanted to rule out any possibility of injuries.

Spoelstra used the fact that the game was decided early on to give Victor Oladipo the freedom to shoot and play more than he usually does. Oladipo scored 23 points with six assists, which is a great boost for the Heat. Duncan Robinson scored 14 points and Caleb Martin 12. All three guys could have a bit role in the next games.

Head to Head Games

Miami won the opening game of the series, at home, 118-107. After that, the Cs responded on the road, 127-102, but they experienced a hard answer at the TD Garden, 109-103. Game 4 saw Boston’s 102-82 victory.

Prediction

The series is getting back to Florida, but even so, the Celtics are the favorites. In our opinion, the Heat will win this one, because they won’t have such a bad start to the event, which was the main reason for a defeat in Game 4. Also, Herro should be back, while on the other side, the situation with Smart isn’t clear at all. Also, we predict Bam Adebayo’s excellent performance, as he is obviously on the rise these days. We’ve seen it in Game 3.

Pick: Heat win
