MLS: Atlanta Untied vs. Inter Miami Preview, Odds, Prediction

Atlanta United and Inter Miami are in the same position, outside the playoff zone in the East, but in completely different shape. While the hosts can’t post one good game in recent times, the boys from Florida are starting to look pretty serious. They didn’t lose in the past four MLS games, beating some pretty solid teams. Meanwhile, Atlanta has just one win since late April, and that certainly isn’t couraging for Gonzalo Pineda’s unit. The game takes place at the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta United (-200) has many injured players, which is the main reason why this team has only 16 points in 13 games, with 20 goals scored and conceded. Instead of being in the playoffs zone, they are four points behind Charlotte, who is in the last place, but with two games in hand. 

Their games are usually very efficient. The reason for that is a very good attack, and a pretty poor defense, which suffered a lot of blows regarding injured players. 

The previous eight games were with both teams to score, while the last nine ended with three or more hits. To be even more precise, four or more goals have been seen on six occasions throughout that stretch. They don’t have some particularly notable striker, as the whole team contributes in that aspect of play. 

Inter Miami (+550) has just one loss in the last six events, and that was in the US Open Cup, where they lost to Orlando City following the penalties. They have four consecutive MLS contests without a loss.

They had back-to-back draws at home to DC United, 2-2, and on the road in Philly, 0-0. After that, they went on to beat two times in a row, both events in Miami. At first, the victims were New York Red Bulls, 2-0, and then Portland Timbers, 2-1. 

Though, when looking at the road games, the Herons won only once in the last six road trips, with one draw and four defeats. Their games away from Miami are low-efficient affairs; the most recent six were all with under 2.5 goals and with just one side netting.

Castanheira, Chol, Alonso, Guzan, Robinson, Gutman, Sosa and Willey are all injured for this one. Almada is suspended for this game due to a red card.

On the other side, Fray, Jones, Marsman, Shea, and Azcona are unavailable for the guests.
