LeVert Back on the Court Until the Season Ends

November 13, 2018 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Good news for all NBA fans and especially the ones who like the Brooklyn Nets and Caris LeVert. The young player will be ready for the end of the season.

Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted earlier today, that Nets organization believes in LeVert’s comeback on the court until this campaign concludes. It is something just a few expected after seeing a horrifying scene in Target center.

“There’s real confidence within the Nets that LeVert will be able to return this season.”

This information was backed up with a statement issued by the Nets orthopedist Dr. Martin O’Malley.

“Fortunately, tests performed this morning revealed that there are no fractures and only moderate ligament damage. While the optics of this injury may have appeared to be more severe, surgery will not be required.”

For the Nets and their fans, this is a huge relief, because LeVert presents the future of this franchise and the cornerstone of all their plans.

“He’s the heart and soul of our program,” Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson said.

Young Fella prayers to you! Speedy recovery and even stronger impact coming soon for sure! 🙏🏾 @CarisLeVert

Back on Monday, the explosive guard landed awkwardly on his right leg, while chasing Josh Okogie and attempting to block him. And the incident happened just 3.7 seconds before the end of the halftime. Unfortunately, Okogie landed with his full weight on Brooklyn’s guard leg. LeVert was instantly transferred to the hospital, and the player was dealing with a lot of pain in those gruesome moments. Eventually, Brooklyn ended up losing that one with 120-113, but the result was completely irrelevant.

The 24-year old had already experienced what is like to suffer devastating injuries. During his time at the University of Michigan, LeVert dealt with multiple surgeries which were caused by his leg injuries. Twice because of the stress fracture in his foot, and after that, he fractured his fifth metatarsal bone. Each time he got out stronger and more prepared.

Despite all of this, the Nets had huge confidence in this guy, and they picked him in the 2016 Draft as the 20th choice. In his first season as a pro, LeVert averaged 8.2 points 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 57 games, averaging 21.7 minutes. The overall productivity of his performances was constantly improving, and when looking this season, he had 18.2 points, 4.3 rebs, and 3.7 assists per game, including the one in which he got injured.

But what is more important is that he became the leader of this franchise, surpassing D’Angelo Russell, who was projected to be a superstar here. Levert’s two-way play and his dedication to constant work were something which Nets didn’t have before, and that is why this situation affects them so badly. Plus, he is one of those guys who couldn’t care less about the media, hype or pressure. The only important thing in his life is basketball.

I HATE injuries! Prayers up for Caris LeVert!

Brooklyn is currently 6 and 8 and placed eight in the Eastern Conference. They have only one win more than Miami who is two places lower, but also, just two wins fewer than fourth-placed Pacers. The game in Minneapolis was their last on a mini-tour through West, in which they played against Phoenix, Denver, Golden State and Minnesota. They were 2-2, which was marked as one solid success. In general, the Nets are much better when compared to the last season, and the improvement in their game is obvious. They have evolved from a team who used to be a punching bag into a legit playoff contender, whose limits are still unknown.

Up next they play against the Miami Heat in their Barclays center, and after that with Washington in DC.

As for LeVert, WagerBop.com wishes all the best to him, hoping that his return comes much earlier than anyone expects. Stay strong buddy, your game awaits you.
