J.Storm vs Team Team – Chongqing Dota 2 Major North American Qualifiers

November 27, 2018 By Shehryar Raza Leave a Comment

The Chongqing Major North America Qualifiers are set to take place in a few hours. The qualifiers include eight participants which have been divided into two groups. Each game will be played in the best of three format.
The reason we have picked this match for you because it is the battle of the two emerging teams of the NA region J.Storm are far superior in skill and experience. Meanwhile, Team Team lacks the quality to be a strong team or will they prove us wrong?

J.Storm

Let’s have a position wise look at the lineup of J.Storm that was formed just a few weeks before the Kuala Lumpur Major. The team managed to qualify for the competition and was eliminated in the second round of the lower bracket finals. This was a good feat by the team considering how fast the lineup was formed.

After The Final Of The International 2016, Moo could not get a foothold in the top teams and truly express himself. Two years later, David is getting a very good chance to redeem himself again and show results at some of the biggest competition of DPC. Now Moo is playing in a different position, having chosen the role of carry rather than an offlaner for quite a while. But he still remains a fairly decent player, which is interesting to observe to this day.

Bryle is the youngest player in this roster. For him it was certainly an invaluable experience at the Kuala Lumpur major, playing against the best teams which is truly special at his age. This guy is on the mid lane, and in the tournament he has surprised us. Bryle previously played for Iceberg Esports and Wind and Rain. It was in these teams that he was able to reveal himself as a very good player.

The composition also includes Forev, who has competed in a lot of high-level tournaments in his career. Lee is a very a very talented and one of the most reliable players of this composition. His composure and experience should certainly help the team achieve positive results in the upcoming qualifier.

MiLAN has long been competing on the professional stage, but over the years he has not been able to achieve successful results. His biggest achievement is the qualification for The International 2017 .

As a fourth position player, Milan is pretty good support. He has a decent solo rating; he has room to grow and what to prove. We hope that in this qualifying event Milan will be able to gain a foothold in this line-up as one of the most valuable players.

March is the most experienced player and that is why he the captain of the team. The man who was able to return to the professional scene after an almost three-year absence. Pak served two years in the Korean army. After returning, he began to train with the Echo International Team, and then for Wind and Rain. Now he is the main backbone of the current J.Storm team.

March changed his position and became the new captain of the current composition. The story of the legendary Korean dota player continues. And we sincerely hope that the story of March will lead him to Chongqing where he will get a chance to compete with the best.

The coach of the team is the notorious DeMoN. The man who at one time raised the level of the game in the SEA-region a step higher. The veteran of professional Dota has managed to play for such famous tags as Evil Geniuses, Meet Your Makers, Team Liquid, Fnatic, TNC Predator, and many more organizations. So his experience will be vital for the team in the upcoming DPC season.

Team Team

Team Team is a newly formed NA team that hosts an all American lineup. The carry of the team is Sammyboy who formerly played for team NANO and Team Leviathan. He has never played on a high competitive level and it is fair to say that this will be the first big game of the carry for his career.

Ryoya started his career in November 2014 with the Boreal eSports team. Even at that time, he proved himself well in the mid lane. After the collapse of the team in April 2015, he joined the ranks of the Void Boys. For half a year he joined several American teams until in February 2017, his big signing was compLexity Gaming. However, the team failed to qualify for TI and parted ways with Ryoya. Now he has a lot to prove in the qualifiers.

Newsham appeared on the pro scene in mid-2014, when he joined the team of Leviathan. He has been playing as a support role since the beginning of his career. The team broke up on March 3, 2016, and Newsham joined The Animal Kingdom. His signature Heroes are Rubick, Lion, and Jakiro.

Team Team’s offlaner Brax is the most experienced player of the team, as he started his career in 2012. He has played for well-reputed teams LGD.int and Na’Vi.US. He has even played in the Frankfurt Major 2015. This has been the biggest achievement of the player so far. Considering the team’s composition, Brax alone will not be able to carry the team from the offlane position against a well-disciplined team like J.Storm.

Final Verdict

In our subjective opinion, J.Storm is the dark horse of the qualifiers. They can make a good statement on the big stage. Of course, team wasn’t destined to win at Kuala Lumpur, but they have shown a good fight and a strong performance. The season has just begun, and against the odds, they have performed quite decently. Meanwhile, Team Team has not proved anything so far. They lack the quality and experience to beat this well-formulated team of J.Storm.

J.Storm team has its own style of play, its own vision, which may surprise some of the participants in the qualifiers. J.Storm is one of the few who likes to take Timbersaw and Spirit Breaker, and at the same time, they have a positive win rate with them.

J.Storm 2-0 Team Team
