UEFA Champions League Group Stage Draw Completed

August 31, 2023 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Following today’s UEFA Champions League group stage draw, the most prominent European football/soccer competition is ready to kick off. And so is betting on the same. In this article, we will review all the groups and present them to you.

Manchester City is the top contender for winning the trophy, and according to the odds, they don’t have a worthy challenger. Bayern is second, Real and Barca come after, with all other teams following.

Group A

Bayern Munich is the favorite for winning the top spot in this assembly, ahead of Manchester United. The two former European champs will have FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray as their rivals. The Turkish champs have been active on the market, adding Ziyech, Zaha, and several other big names.

Group B

For many the easiest one. The Europa League champs, Sevilla, Arsenal, PSV, and Lens, feature here, and apart from the English unit, all the others have equal chances of advancing to the knockout stage.

Group C

Napoli and Real Madrid meet again, and these two crews are the absolute favorites for the next round ahead of Braga and Union Berlin. Though the latter teams play very attractive and efficient football, and that it would be enjoying watching them.

Group D

Benfica and Inter had a clash in the knockout stage last year, and besides these teams, we have Salzburg and Real Sociedad. This might be one very interesting assembly because Inter and Benfica aren’t that big of favorites like some other big-time teams in other groups.

Group E

Feyenoord, Atletico, Lazio, and Celtic comprise this group, which is, for many, the most leveled one. All of these teams can advance to the next stage, and it wouldn’t be odd at all. Atletico has a slight edge over the others, but even so, the Spaniards can’t be considered safe passengers to the Round of 16.

Group F

The group of death. PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Milan and Newcastle. These teams have high ambitions in this competition, but to fulfill them, they will need to go through hell immediately in the group stage. It’ll be fun watching these clubs competing against one another. For us personally, there aren’t any favorites here, and all the teams have the exact same odds for advancing to the Round of 16.

Group G

The UCL champs Manchester City, and Leipzig are accompanied by Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys. They should take the first two places, while the battle for the third spot will be interesting. Red Star is a state project, and a lot of state resources have been invested in this club, and there are some talks that the politics had influence as well. On the other side, the Swiss unit plays excellent football, and they can’t be underestimated.

Group H

The final group consisted of Barcelona, , Shakhtar, and Antwerp, won’t offer some particular thrill. Barca and Porto are better teams than the Ukrainian and the Belgian champions, and we won’t see too much excitement here. The difference between these rivals is just too big to expect anything surprising.
