G2 Esports vs Splyce – League of Legends LEC 2019

January 31, 2019 By Shehryar Raza Leave a Comment

The LEC 2019 has kicked off and it has exceeded all expectations. The Rise of G2 and the free fall of Fnatic has kept the entire community captivated. Let’s see what more surprises will the competition bring is in the coming weeks.

We got this match for you because it is between two teams, G2 Esports, and Splyce, who have made a strong start to the new season of LEC. So, it will be a captivating practice to pick the winner of this confrontation between two in-form teams.

G2 Esports

G2 Esports is consolidating its position in the LEC as one of the most important and respected clubs in the world. In addition to the successes as a team, the LEC franchise founded by Carlos ” ocelote ” Rodríguez in 2014 is establishing a new way of working in eSports.

The League of Legends section of G2 Esports will continue to fight for a long time since the club has renewed the team’s contract for a total of 17 years adding up all the signatures. Undoubtedly, one of the most solid teams committed to long-term competition.

An All-Star team on the rise

The future that awaits G2 Esports in League of Legends is promising. Its new staff facing the LEC, after the incorporation of Caps and Mikyx, is fearsome. A team that has already reached the semifinals of the last World Cup and still wants more. But in addition to promising, the future will be long-lived. The 5 players of League of Legends and the coach have renewed their contract with the team. In fact, if we add the duration of all results, it is a total of 17 years.

Perkz changing his role

After Caps signing, Luka ” Perkz” Perkovic changed his position from mid to become ADC. This decision might appear surprising at first, however, the young Croatian has been training for several weeks and now in the bot lane is accompanied by the support of the Misfits, Mihael ” Mikyx ” Mehle.

This lineup was expected to start the new LEC 2019 campaign with a bang and that they did. The team has played four and won four. They didn’t show many signs of weaknesses. Perkz did have some questionable performances, but it is clearly understandable since he is playing as the ADC for the first time on a competitive level. Apart from this aspect, G2 looks very much like a strong contender for the title and is not looking to taste defeat anytime soon.

Their critics do say that G2 had not faced strong team and beating the likes of Rogue and Origen doesn’t prove anything. But looking at the recent performances of Fnatic, we believe that the critics are wrong on this part and G2 will surely shine in the weeks to come.

Splyce

Between 2017 and 2018, 4 of the 5 players left the Splyce squad. Only Kobbe remained and continued to represent the team that has shown so much potential in the early years. The new composition was rather interesting on paper: kaSing, Nisqy, Xerce, and Odoamne join snakes for season 8.

The team claimed the third position in the regular phase and third in Playoffs, while their Spring Split run exceeded the expectations of the fans. Kobbe, the survivor of previous years, received recognition after an impressive Spring Split. In Summer Split, the story completely changed for Splyce. The team finished 6th and downgraded its status as an average team after a second half of the season, as their performances went from catastrophic to somewhat stable at the end of the course.

New season new roster

For the 2019 season, the snakes again changed their lineup almost entirely. This time, it was Kobbe and Xerce who remained. The team welcomed three new players including a rookie that should excel as the season progresses, Humanoid. An average team or the return of success?

On 30th November, Splyce got its first signing mid-Marek ” Humanoid ” Brázda. The young Czech player already has a great career since he has already evolved under the colors of MAD Lions, Millenium and more recently, Illuminar Gaming. He replaced Yasin ” Nisqy ” Dinçer, who was exiled to LCS NA under the colors of Cloud9.

In December, Tamás ” Vizicsacsi ” Kiss will become the top laner of Splyce for the season 2019. He replaced Andrei ” Odoamne ” Pascu. Splyce completed its roster by recruiting Norskeren to the support position.

Decent start to the campaign

The snakes had an impressive start to the 2019 season after finishing 6th in October, and are having fun in the early days of competition. Last week, against Rogue, despite making a lot of mistakes in team fights, they won convincingly enough.

Here’s where Splyce got our attention. It was in their clash against Origen. They imposed themselves with on the Spanish side in a quiet dominating fashion. Splyce completely outplayed its opponent. The Danish side managed to take down all the objectives. Claiming the first Dragon of the game was the only victory for Origen. In their first week, the Splyce team did show signs of weaknesses since they got comprehensively beaten by Vitality. At the moment, Splyce has won three and lost one so they are off to a good start but the side will have a tough outing against G2.

Final verdict

Both Splyce and G2 had an impressive start to the campaign but have yet to prove themselves. Splyce has lost one of their matches and were close to losing against Rogue. So the side needs to adapt and learn because if the same slip-ups continue against Splyce then they might as well lose the game in the early stage. For G2 we believe that Perkz is the only weakness of the team, who will be the focus of Splyce but if they put too much attention on the bot lane then they will have no chance if Caps comes out all gun blazing. Therefore, we believe that G2 will have an easy time against Splyce and will continue their dominance in the LEC.

G2 Esports Victory
