MiBR vs HeallRaisers – DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 Preview

August 30, 2018 By Shehryar Raza Leave a Comment

CSGO is one of the most successful FPS gaming titles. The game has sold over 25.5 million copies. Owing to its success in the market, a lot of big organizers have invested in the game by hosting competitions with exceptional prize pools. Let’s have a look at DreamHack Stockholm

MiBR vs HellRaisers (DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018, August 29, Wednesday, 16:30 CEST, Best of One):

HellRaisers

In 2018, HellRaisers won the Bets.net Masters: Season 1 and CIS Minor Championship – London 2018. Both of these competitions included second-tier teams. Meanwhile, in May, the team finished at second place at the DreamHack Open Tours 2018 as they lost the grand finale to North.

HellRaisers is the only team that was in the list of top 10 teams and participated in the competition. In the Moche XL eSports competition, the team finished at second place. It was the same story as it was in the DreamHack as the side lost to SK which at that time included four members of the current roster of MiBR.

So HellRaisers may not be well versed in playing against big teams. The team finished at 14th place at the StarSeries & i-League CS: GO Season 5. Moreover, the past month has not been good for the team.

Problems Growing for HellRaisers

HellRaisers failed to qualify for the

. But lost their Winner’s match to NRG who is ranked 9th in the world ranking. They also lost to Virtus.Pro in the elimination match.

To put the icing on the cake, Ozgur “woxic” Ecker who was the MVP for HellRaisers at the Bets.net Masters: Season 1 is facing Visa issues. At the moment, he won’t be playing with his team at Stockholm. He hasn’t received his documents from the embassy with less than 48 hours remaining in the competition. If woxic failed to join his team then HellRaisers won’t have any chance against MiBR let alone qualifying for the playoffs.

In the four Major tournaments this year, HellRaisers have only once qualified for the playoffs. So, it is fair to say the team is not yet ready to compete on the level of a team like MiBR. HellRaisers lack the quality and strength at the moment and with the possible absence of the talented woxic they stand no chance.

MiBR

Looking at the big names in this team, MiBR should easily be amongst the five best teams. The lineup includes one of the best in-game leaders in the world, FalleN. Joining him is one of the stars of the modern era, Coldzera.

In 2017, Fer showed why he should play in the big leagues. Fer was on the team of LG that won so much in such a little time. To top off the lineup, MiBR has acquired the services of two of the most talented players of NA region, Tarik, and Stewie 2K.

Role & Strategy Problems at MiBR

The reason why this team full of superstars hasn’t lived up to its true potential is that they can’t seem to figure out their roles. This Brazilian organization needs players like Ricardo ‘boltz’ Prass, Lincoln ‘fnx’ Lau and Epitacio ‘TACO’ de Melo who can play in a calm and collected manner, who can play well with the team.

Instead, the current lineup includes individually talented players. Who are quite aggressive but lack team coordination.

Last time at the Eleague, the situation improved for the team as it seemed like they were playing in a well-coordinated manner. The old tactics of FalleN were in-play. These tactics were the recipe of success for NiP but it doesn’t seem like this is a way to go with these highly aggressive players.

In Stockholm, it will be exciting to see what the team has learned from its past mistakes. They have the players and the talent to not only win this game but the entire competition. However, it seems like they just need to focus on finding the right strategy.

MiBR Finding their way?

The root problem for this team could be attributed to its weak map pool. They have displayed quite poor performances against the best competitive sides.

Before signing coach Janko ‘YNk’ Paunovic the highest win rate for the team was 65%. After signing him the teams win rate has climbed to 75% on Inferno and Train maps. In the Zotac Cup, the side even picked Dust2 for the first time and won on both occasions.

A couple of days ago, the team won the Zotac Cup without dropping a single game. This was the first official title victory for the MiBR side in 2018. They won the title after beating tier two teams like Kinguin, MVP.PK, and Flash. Stockholm will be the big test for the team. If this team can get rolling, there is a world where they could win the Major.

The team first participated in ESL One: Cologne 2018 and ELEAGUE CSGO Premier 2018 where they managed a 7th and 5th place finish, respectively.  Now the team has won the Zotac Cup. This means that they are true contenders for the DreamHack title.

This game against HellRaisers should not be a big problem for the team since this lineup has beaten HellRaisers twice in 2018.

Final verdict

MiBR 1 – 0 HellRaisers
