Rob Gronkowski Traded to Tampa Bay, Will Play With Tom Brady

April 21, 2020 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are going to play once again, only this time for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It is the latest news from the NFL today, and arguably one of the most significant in the last couple of years.

The bomb exploded today once Drew Rosenhaus confirmed to Adam Schefter that the star tight end is going to be traded to Florida.

“Pending the physical, Rob has agreed to play for Tampa this season,” Rosenhaus told Schefter. “He will honor his current contract at this time.”‬

The contract stated that even though he’s been retired, the Pats had rights on him for one more year, with a salary of $9 million. However, after asking a trade to Tampa Bay, the franchise accepted that, and shipped the seventh-round pick they had, and in return, they would receive one fourth-rounder.

Update: Rob Gronkowski already has taken his physical in Boston with a neutral physician and is awaiting the official results, though one source added he believes he passed “with flying colors.”

Once physical is passed, Gronkowki will be a Buc and reunited with Tom Brady.

According to the same sources, the 31-year old is already having his physical tests in Boston, and it is expected to pass them without any problems. Once that becomes official, the player will become the part of the Bucs in the shortest possible time.

The reunion of arguably the best tandem in the last decade is already creating a mass hysteria around the world, with the social networks on fire following the news. Brady and Gronkowski had 78 touchdowns, the most in the NFL, during eight years they played from 2010 until 2018.

Their connection as something remarkable, and it is no wonder why many believe Pats won the last three championships mostly due to their actions. Now, it is time for them to try the same with the Buccaneers.

It would be interesting to see the state of Gronk’s body after a year of rest and rehabilitation because the TE had numerous injury problems throughout his entire career, and that was especially troublesome for him over the last two years of his career. Nevertheless, he would always find the strength to play and to deliver excellent performances.

Gronkowski never ruled out the option of coming back to the game, and he even listed two reasons for that. The first would be that the Pats are in a bad place and they need help. The second, that at some point, Brady gives him a call, asking him to return. From all this, we might guess that, in this case, it was No.2.

With Bruce Arians in charge, Tampa Bay’s offense could easily become one of the best if not the best in the league. Even though the experienced head coach isn’t known for his big TE exploitation, no doubt, he would find a way on how to utilize Brady’s and Gronk’s relationship. After all, he doesn’t even need to make too many actions for them. The two pretty much understand one another in almost any position.a

When we add Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, we can see that the Buccs are going to have one hell of a receiving crew, and the only thing they need now is to tighten up their defense and possibly bring some more experienced running back. According to many, Ronald James II is not that good at the moment.

After this move, we might see plenty of big names offering their services to the Buccs, only to be able to play alongside Brady and Gronk, No doubt, Tampa Bay became the most attractive team in the NFL.
