Marshawn Lynch in Talks With Seattle Seahawks

May 5, 2020 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Marshawn Lynch stated that he might come back next season and play for his favorite – Seattle Seahawks. The Beast Mode revealed this yesterday night, adding that his agent is in talks with the franchise, where he established himself as one of the best players in the NFL.

“My agent has been in talks with Seattle, so like I said, we’ll see what happens. If it works out and I get back up there, it is what it is,” Lynch said.

The two sides have affection for one another, and the Seahawks fans are hoping to see Beast Mode once again.

He would come out of the retirement for the second time last season once he signed for Seattle before the final week of the regular part of the season. Pete Carroll’s team was slashed with numerous injuries at the time, and they practically had nobody at the running back position. He and Robert Turbin came to help the team until the end of the season, and the team even managed to post a win in the Wild Card round in Philadelphia against the Eagles, 17-9.

During that short stint, Lynch scored four TDs, one in the regular-season finale against the 49ers, one in Philly and two against the Packers in the Divisional Round once the Seahawks finished their run. He would tie with Terrell Davis and John Riggins in the fourth place on the all-time postseason rushing TD list with 12 scores.

It seems that the 34-year old thinks that he is still capable of contributing on the field. It is possible that he can’t win yards as during the prime years of his career, but when it comes to closure and executing, he is still lethal as ever. In those three games last year, he carried the football 30 times for 67 yards and posted four TDs, which is pretty impressive you need to admit.

Along with Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, Lynch would make a perfect addition and create a rotation capable of hurting any team in the league. Apart from that, he and Carson would mentor Penny, whose talent is enormous but still raw.

However, this isn’t the only thing why Beast Mode’s arrival would be beneficial for the organization. Having Lynch in the locker room would boost the morale of both his teammates and the fans. We witnessed the euphoria following his arrival at the end of the 2019 season, with the fans going wild after the news broke out that he might come back at CenturyLink Field.

Lynch spent five and a half seasons in Seattle, arriving from Buffalo in October 2010. Back then, the Seahawks gave two picks for the running back and made one of the best deals in their history. He would earn four Pro Bowl invitations while playing there, become a First-team All-Pro in 2012 and a Second-team All-Pro in 2014, while leading the league in TDs in 2013, and 2014. The league selected him in the NFL 2010s All-Decade team.

The biggest success in his career, is without a doubt, a Super Bowl trophy in 2013, when Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in the title game. After that, Lynch and Seattle had one more chance to lift Vince Lombardy trophy, but the Patriots defeated them next season. It was a tight loss, after which Seahawks didn’t have chances for capturing the SB anymore.
