Mahomes, Chiefs to Face Brady and the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV

January 25, 2021 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs will defend the Super Bowl trophy against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady. The Chiefs routinely handled the Buffalo Bills, 38-24, while on the other side, the Bucs edged out the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau, 31-26.

Chiefs Show Their Power

For a brief moment, everyone believed that the Bills are near a surprise, as they had a 9-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play. They looked good, overcoming adversities and the rival’s traps.

Ten minutes into the second frame and we saw 21 unanswered points from the hosts, who completely changed the narrative of the match. The reigning champs were all over the place, smashing and bashing the Bills, who didn’t know what hit them in the first place.

We saw Mahomes throwing bombs all over the place, and when it needed came to executing, the Chiefs’ rushing game was perfect, even though it didn’t generate some high stats throughout the event.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrell Williams both had a TD in that second period. Later on, Travis Kelce took over with two caught passes in the endzone. He fantastic tight end finished the match with 118 yards caught, but he wasn’t the first choice for his passer.

Tyreek Hill racked up 172 yards, and even though he didn’t have a score, Cheetah’s performance will be remembered for a long time. Mecole Hardman also added one TD catch.

Mahomes had 325 yards and three tosses for the score.

“We did a good job as far as rehabbing, getting myself ready to go. I felt like I was myself out there, and we were able to go out there and score points against a really good football team.”

On the other side, Josh Allen threw 287 yards for two TDs and one pick.

Brady’s Magic

Tampa Bay Buccaneers will become the first team to play the Super Bowl match at home, after eliminating the Green Bay Packers last night.

Even though Tom Brady threw three picks, his Bucs managed to defeat the Packs, securing him the 10th Super Bowl, and a chance for the 7th ring. Though, all he talked about after the match was the defense.

“It’s great to get another road win and now we got a home game, and who would have ever thought a home Super Bowl for us,” Brady said. “But we did it. I thought the defense was spectacular. They’ve done that all year.”

Each time the Bucs needed a score, Brady was there to find an open target. He had 280 yards, three TD passes, and three interceptions. Chris Godwin was usually the one who was on the other side, as the fantastic wide receiver caught 110 yards in 5 receptions.

Leonard Fournette again scored a TD, rushing for just 55 yards, but with some major plays. Mike Evans, Scotty Miller, and Cameron Brate all had one TD each.

With 2:05 to go, the Packs had fourth-and-goal, eight yards away from the endzone. Matt LeFleur decided to go for a field goal instead of risking, which didn’t pay off. The Bucs held the football until the very end after that.

Aaron Rodgers had 46 yards for three TDs and one pick, but was sacked five times for 32 negative yards. Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught 115 yards and a TD, Davante Adams 67, also for a score. Robert Tonyan was the third player on the home team with a scoring catch.

The Super Bowl odds are live and in two weeks at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.
