NBA: Philadelphia 76ers vs. LA Clippers Preview, Odds, Prediction

March 26, 2021 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Saturday brings one very interesting matchup in the NBA, with the LA Clippers hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. These two teams are contenders for the title this season, and the eyes of all the fans will be pointed towards this event. They are both looking good, posting consecutive wins, and besides all the above-mentioned, that is an additional factor that promises a lot of fun. Philly proved to be incredibly resistant to the fact that Joel Embiid isn’t available. On the other side, the Clippers are shuffling the lineup, occasionally resting one or both of their superstars. But in this one, we believe that Doc Rivers will go out with his team in full mode.

Preview

Philadelphia 76ers (32-13, +125) are on a four-game winning streak and have 10 triumphs over the past 11 games. Even though Joel Embiid is out, Philly plays well and keeps on posting good results, hanging onto the Eastern Conference’s top spot.

The only game Doc Rivers’ side lost since the start of the March was in Milwaukee, and that was after overtime, 109-105. Following that, the 76ers won four in a row, defeating the Kings at home, then the Knicks, Warriors, and the Lakers on the road. Philly has three more events away from home before getting back to their Wells Fargo Center.

Danny Green was masterful in the latest clash against the Lakers, with the sharpshooting forward hitting 8 three-pointers and 28 points. Seth Curry added 19 points, while Tobias Harris had 17 with six boards. Ben Simmons was all-around with 9 buckets, 12 assists, and seven boards.

Los Angeles Clippers (30-16, -150) also have four straight victories. The first team they defeated during this stretch were the Charlotte Hornets, then the Atlanta Hawks, and after that, the Spurs, whom the Clippers beat twice in a row.

The hottest news from the City of Angels is that Rajon Rondo landed in a trade that saw the Clipps sending the three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Lou Williams, to Atlanta. Rondo’s appearance on the court will stabilize LAC’s attack and give a more steady attack.

After this match, the Clippers have eight more games at home, and even though the rivals are not easy, they should post a positive record and win at least five of these matches. If Rondo and the boys click well enough, there is no doubt that the Clippers might win the championship this year.

Head to Head Games

The two sides didn’t play during this year.

Prediction

The Clippers lost a valuable piece of the team, but looking overall at this trade move, they ended up as the winners here. Rondo might be an older player, but his experience and stability will improve the rest of the team once playing in the starting lineup.

LAC is much closer to win this match. Tyron Lue’s tactics are paying off, and the Clippers are on the rise. You won’t find a better offense in the league than theirs right now, even though this unit isn’t the one with the highest scoring average.

To summarize everything, we are backing up the Clippers to post a victory in this event.
