Fnatic vs Cloud 9 – LoL World Championship 2018 Semi-finals

Another day, another semi-final of the LoL World Championship Series 2018. It will be yet another exciting day to see two entirely unbelievable teams competing on the main stage. It will be the battle between EU and NA region. The two semi-finalists, Fnatic and Cloud 9 will be competing at the main stage to secure a spot in the grand finals of the event.

The reason we have picked this match for you is that it is the battle of the NA region vs EU. Cloud9 have made a long journey and have had their fair share of criticism. They have defied the odds and are now against the best team of EU. Apart from Cloud9, every team of NA has disappointed the fans this year. Fnatic

Fnatic has been a force to be reckoned with in this competition. The European squadron is the one that produces the most gold per minute, an issue that has been reflected even in the moments when they ran with great disadvantages in deaths and kills.

Broxah the best player in Worlds 2018

The 2018 Worlds campaign of Fnatic is going fantastic, and much of the credit goes to Broxah. The Danish jungler is one of the key elements for the good performance of the team that qualified for Semifinals and has become the main favorite to win the tournament. After leading his team to victory over Invictus Gaming in the group stage, defeating EDG in Quarterfinals and eliminating the two top favorites, KT Rolster, and SK Telecom T1, it is quite evident that the European side is more than prepared.

Broxah has proven to be a very consistent jungler who give 100% to the side. He only had a poor performance in the first game of the series against EDG, in which his team lost. On the other hand, he was phenomenal in the group stages and secured his team a first place in the group stages of LoL World Championship 2018.

Broxah has been named three times as Best Player of the Match. He shares this feat with Caps (Fnatic), Rookie (IG), Jensen (C9), Mata (KT), Wunder and Perkz (G2). He is the only jungler that has won the award so many times, and only Karsa (RNG) follows him, with 2 MVPs.

In addition to making it clear that he is the jungler that stands out the most, if we compare the statistics with the group above, it shows how important the Danish is for his team’s strategy. Broxah has the best KDA, with 9.9, only surpassed in the whole tournament by his teammate Rekkles, with 10.9. The key to this statistic is not in his kills but in his deaths. Cloud 9

The North American organization eliminated the last representative of South Korea in the World Championships of League of Legends. Cloud 9 has won an encounter that few could have foreseen and become the first American team to reach the Worlds semifinals.

Cloud9 has demolished the Koreans by 3 to 0 and will face the dominant side of Fnatic. The victory of the Americans has left some interesting facts: 2018 will be the first year of Worlds without a Korean winner, something that has not happened since 2012, and for the first time in the history of the competition South Korea will not have a single representative in the semifinals.

From the play-in to leave a mark on the story

The blue team had to go through the play-in to qualify for the final phase of the tournament. At that time, they had no problem going over their rivals and getting the much-needed wins that got them access to the groups. As luck would have it, Cloud9 was included in the so-called “group of death” that pitted him against Royal Never Give Up, Team Vitality, and Gen.g Esports.

After a spectacular last day, in which they defeated all of their rivals, Cloud9 got the pass to the quarterfinals. In the tiebreaker, the side even managed to beat RNG. The draw matched them against Afreeca Freecs, a team that had shown weaknesses in the game. Hylissang, a player of Fnatic himself declared Cloud 9 as the favourites in the matchup against Afreeca Freecs.

The last fight of the quarterfinal fifth game has been a good summary of the whole series: Jensen just managed a triple after Nocturne had used paranoia and the Cloud 9 team managed to achieve an ace that allowed them to advance, to the nexus and demolishes it to their pleasure.

Final verdict

Cloud9 has managed to eliminate the last team in the South Korean region that remained in the tournament, Afreeca Freecs, and advance towards the Semifinals by instilling fear in its competitors, Fnatic.

Cloud 9 will have to be in their best game to beat Fnatic. However, Fnatic will beat them but it should be an impressive battle at both ends.
