Harry Kane’s Unreal Goal Gives Spurs a 3-2 Win Over Juventus

July 21, 2019 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Harry Kane scored an unbelievable goal which secured a win for his Tottenham Hotspurs against Juventus. Spurs’ striker netted a last-minute dagger almost from the middle of the pitch. It is one of the most exciting goals in this competition ever seen.

Lucas Moura pressured one of the Juventus’ players and took away the possession from him. The ball went towards Kane who instantly sent a strike towards Juve’s goal, surprising the goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny who was far away from the goal line.

England’s captain was thrilled after the match, saying that he noticed Szczesny coming out too far on several occasions during the game.

“It’s probably one of the best goals in my career,” Kane said. “I saw the keeper was quite far off his a few times, so I thought I would take the chance if I had the opportunity. I saw him off his line, and fortunately, it went in.”

Tottenham took the lead after 30 minutes of play when Erik Lamela ht the back of the net from a nearby after Buffon deflected one cross from his left side. Although both teams had good and frequent chances, there weren’t any more goals in the opening 45 minutes.

But the latter part of the match saw more excitement, which involved four goals and many attractive plays. It appears that all those substitutions really gave a positive impact on the tempo, which dramatically increased.

Juventus responded with leveling the score through Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentinian played a one-two pass with Federico Bernardeschi before sending a low shot inside the left post of Paulo Gazzaniga’s goal.

Only three minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo completely changed the result, giving the advantage to the Old Lady. De Sciglio sent a low cross on the edge of the goalkeeper are, and the Portuguese elegantly placed the ball behind Gazzaniga.

However, Tottenham regrouped and responded very soon, through Lucas Moura in the 65th minute. Young newcomer Tanguy Ndombele who entered the pitch two minutes earlier intercepted a ball and made a perfect assist to the Brazilian who routinely executed.

Spurs’ coach was very pleased with the way Lyon’s former midfielder debuted, saying that his quality appeared right away.

“All is new for him, but I think with the first touch of the ball he started to show the quality from him. It was amazing and you can see when he runs something can happen.”

Higuain had the chance to score another goal for Juve, seven minutes before the end of the regulations, but his effort went near the post. In the end, it was Kane who amazed the world with his goal, and who delivered a sweet triumph for his team.

Although it is the first match of these two sides, we could see that Spurs’ quality hasn’t dropped a bit when compared to the previous season. Furthermore, Ndombele’s acquisition could only upgrade Pochettino’s unit. If by any chance Gareth Bale signs for his former club, the Spurs could be more dangerous than last season, when they reached the UEFA Champions League finals.

Meanwhile, Juventus is still adjusting to several fresh faces, among which are Matthijs De Ligt and Adrien Rabiot, as well as to the new philosophy of play brought by Maurizio Sarri.

In three days, Juventus plays against Inter, at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center. This clash is of huge importance for both sides because Inter aims to dethrone the Old Lady, and they already brought several big names in order to do so.

Tottenham has an exciting meeting with Manchester United at Hongkou Stadium in Shanghai, one day later.
