LA Lakers, LeBron Beat San Antonio Spurs, 114-104

November 25, 2019 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

The Los Angeles Lakers played an excellent second half and defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 114-104. With LeBron James in charge, the guests from LA managed to crush the Spurs in the last period and to post their 15th win of the season.

His back-to-back threes in the fourth, to pull the Lakers to 93-85 were probably the decisive moments of the game. James would end the night with 33 points and 14 rebounds, shooting from the field 13 for 24 and dictating the tempo on the floor for 35 minutes he spent on the floor.

“I just want to be able to not have any weaknesses… just trying to be the most complete basketball player I can be,” the King said following the match.

The Lakers would make 12-3 run following the start of the fourth, and seal a win. During that time, LBJ had 10 points, hitting three downtown shots, and ripping apart the Spurs who weren’t able to follow his rhythm.

“He was unbelievable,” Frank Vogel said following the match,

At one moment of the fourth, he was involved in all 25 points of his Lakers, either as the one who scored it or made the assist. LeBron has been averaging 25.2 points 10.8 assists and 7.6 rebounds per game since the season started, and for now, he is one of the biggest contenders for the MVP award.

The Spurs held on as long as they could but eventually ran out of juice to compete with the guests from LA. From day to day we hear stories suggesting that this franchise might enter the process of a rebuild, and looking at their record that cold be pretty possible.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 30 points and 5 boards, with 12 hits in 22 attempts. DeMar DeRozan had 24 points, 11 for 19 from the game. It is widely speculated that the former Toronto Raptors’ guard could end in Orlando Magic and that in some versions, that trade includes even Aldridge.

The Spurs had 46.6% from the field, but they simply didn’t have LeBron to guide them in the crucial moments of the match.

Apart from the two above-mentioned, Spurs had Bryn Forbes with 13 points, and Derrick White 11.

For the Lakers, Anthony Davis had 19 buckets, with 12 boards and 6 assists. He started the game a bit slow, but as time went by, AD was getting better and better and was in an all-around mood tonight at AT&T Center. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 14 points, Rajon Rondo 13 off the bench, while Troy Daniels added 11.

The Lakers are now 15-2 and are first in the Western Conference. After beating the Grizzlies and the Spurs tonight, they have one more game on this road trip against the New Orleans Pelicans, who were defeated on Monday by the Clippers in LA. After that, they head back home to face the Washington Wizards.

Meanwhile, the Spurs 6-12, have two more games at home, against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
