PSG Will Take Disciplinary Actions Against Neymar

July 8, 2019 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

The French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, will take disciplinary actions against their superstar Neymar. One of the best players in the world failed to appear earlier today at the first preseason gathering of the Parisian club.

July 8 was marked to be a start of the preseason activities for the French powerhouse. All the players who didn’t have international duties, and weren’t permitted by the club to be absent were obliged to appear at the club’s training facilities.

Neymar’s presence was expected, but Brazil’s No.10 wasn’t there, which forced the club to react.

“On Monday 8 July, Neymar was due to return to preseason activities with the PSG senior squad,” said the clubs statement. “PSG notes that Neymar was not in attendance at the agreed time and place.”

Neymar’s PR stated that the player notified the club about his extended stay in Brazil, which would last until 15 July. Still, PSG denies such stories, claiming that they weren’t a part of any such arrangement, indicating further disciplinary actions.

“This was without the club’s prior authorization,” the Ligue 1 giants added. “The club regrets this situation and will, therefore, take appropriate action.”

The tensions between Neymar and PSG have been at a high level for quite some time. It seems that the player is no longer happy in Paris and that he wishes to leave the capital of France.

Meanwhile, the reasons for this are still not revealed. Some are saying that Neymar creates bad chemistry in the locker room and that the team isn’t willing to accept him as the leader. His dispute with Edinson Cavani was the first sign of poor relationships among the Saints’ stars.

The fans also are not supporting the Brazilian too much. Booes and whistles after he took the ball from Cavani and executed the penalty earlier last season also made him frustrated.

According to some sources from the club, the locker room was divided between the Brazilians who backed Neymar and the vast majority of other team members who are disliking the most expensive player in the world.

A big deal in the entire situation, are PSG’s constant failures in the Champions League. Although they dominate the French championship, the Saints suffered several shocking losses on the European stage. They weren’t even close of reaching the finals, let alone to lift a trophy.

Because of all this, Neymar wants to leave the club. Two big names appeared in speculations about his next destination. Both of them are from Spain – Real Madrid, and his former club Barcelona.

Real was in the combination for quite some time, while Barca appeared in the last two months. Zidane wants to create a super-team which will rule Europe. Besides Hazard, he needs one more superstar, because Barcelona already has a strong team, strengthened with Frenkie De Jong and Antoine Griezmann.

On the other side, a Catalonian club is a familiar place for Neymar, who already played there, and won everything alongside Messi and Suarez.

PSG is allegedly willing to sell the unhappy player, but the problem for all the interesting sides will be the price. It is sure that PSG’s chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi isn’t going to let go the Brazilian below the figure he spent on his freedom two years ago, which is €222 million.

What might lower that sum are potential players who can be included in the transfer.

It seems that “Neymar saga” is just about to start. We will wait for PSG’s punishment and after that, follow the development of the situation.
