Tom Brady: “It Is Always Nice To Beat 70,000 People”

January 21, 2019 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

The New England Patriots are unstoppable. If you had any doubts about their strength this season, they are blown away now.

Last night’s game at Arrowhead Stadiums confirmed the greatness of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Pats defeated Kansas City, 37-31, despite being underdogs. These two will be playing their 8th Super Bowl together, and aim the sixth championship ring. It is something we won’t see in a while.

If they win the title, it would be the absolute confirmation of their status as the greatest of all times, with all due respect to others.

Against the high-explosive Chiefs’ offense, Belichick responded with the same recipe. Of course, when you have Brady on your team that is much easier.

The four-time Super Bowl MVP threw 348 yards, completing 30 of his 46 passes, with one touchdown pass and two interceptions, though. Some might say that this wasn’t anything special. Still, when needed the most, Brady stepped up and had one of the most amazing drives in the playoff history.

“You knew that once we got the ball it was game over. I mean I was ready to go out if I had to. But, he put it away for us. It’s just a blessing.” said Trey Flowers after the game when he spoke about Brady’s overtime miracle.

There were three third-and-10 situations, some spectacular passes, fantastic vision and a victory in the end. Everything that Brady has to offer. The Chiefs fans were desperate, as they saw what is coming.

Eventually, after 12 plays and 73 yards, Brady handed the ball to Rex Burkhead who rushed for a 2-yard touchdown, his second of the game.

It was “hello Super Bowl” for the Pats for the third straight year.

While all the players and the fans were stunned and amazed at how Brady handled the clutch situation, Bill Belichick had a calm and cool reaction.

“He played great.” said the Pats coach, and continued his interview, praising the whole team, not wanting to empasize any individual achievements.

“I think we have overcome a lot this year. Down but not out, and we found a way to play our best the last four games – Buffalo, Jets, had the bye, played great against the Chargers and played really well today.” Brady spoke at the press conference. “We are going to need one more great game. That was a great way to end it.”

The 41-year old also spoke about the atmosphere and the hostile conditions at the Arrowhead, saying that it is always nice to beat a big rival in front of their crowd.

“When you have 70,000 people cheering against you, it is pretty sweet when you win on the road. It is a hard thing to do in the NFL.”

He didn’t mention that he went to Chief’s locker room after the game and asked security to let him see Patrick Mahomes. Once again Brady showed his greatness, acknowledging they youngster and his quality.

Kansas City created a hell of trouble for the guests, no doubt about that.

The Rams are eager to get even for the Super Bowl XXXVI, when young Brady made one of the biggest upsets of his career and defeated the “Greatest Show on Turf” in New Orleans. Back then, this victory was considered to be maybe one of the biggest surprises in the history of the NFL.

That match marks the start of probably the biggest dynasty ever seen in professional football, which still lasts some 17 years after. The Patriots won their first Super Bowl, Tom Brady and Belichick cemented their positions in the franchise, and they are terrorizing the league ever since.

Nowadays, seeing Patriots on the throne is just a normal thing. Some might say, that it is an odd situation when they don’t win the ring,

He will become the oldest quarterback in the history of the Super Bowl. Will he set the new record and become the oldest one who won it? We’ll see that on 3rd of February in Atlanta.
