Usman Officially Offers a Title-Fight to Masvidal and McGregor

May 27, 2020 By Nikola Velickovic Leave a Comment

Shortly after he and his agent called out Conor McGregor, Kamaru Usman once again appeared on the social networks, offering a title fight. Only this time he would add Jorge Masvidal to the list of the potential rivals.

The champ still doesn’t get it why Masvidal wants to move away from the chance to meet him in the match for the title. The only logical answer for the Nigerian Nightmare is that Gamebred is afraid.

“Why is that a better fight than being the champion of the world? Or because you know that the champ of the world is gonna beat the (expletive) out of me, and I have nothing that I can do about it..” Usman said.

Spoke to @GamebredFighter moments ago.

We discussed the drama surrounding his fight against Kamaru Usman, whether he’s really fighting Nate Diaz next, Colby Covington leaving ATT, and much, much more.

Masvidal is the No.1 challenger in the welterweight division, and according to all the insiders from the UFC, he should be the next opponent for Usman. However, the BMF titleholder is aiming to do another match with Nate Diaz, whom he defeated recently.

Many believe that the main reason for that is the money, because of Diaz’s popularity in the USA. Also, the two already had one clash, as mentioned above, and the second would create an even bigger hype.

Another option for Usman is Conor McGregor. He was already calling out the Notorious along with his agent Ali Abdelaziz via Twitter. The two offered a title-fight to the Irishman, who is yet to respond to all the words fired from this side.

Usman stated that if McgGegor believes he is one of the best ever pound-for-pound fighter, he needs to accept this match.

“We’re about making history here,” Usman said. “He said that he’s the pound-for-pound greatest of all time across three divisions, this is your chance to prove it. Go out there and win a third belt in a third division.”

It seems that the Nigerian wants not just to fight these guys, but also cash in his current status and popularity, It is why he picked Masvidal and Conor, who are arguably the most attractive names among all of his challengers.

The match against McGregor would potentially be one of the most profitable ever.

“In the history of MMA, who has ever turned down a title shot? You know what? Just remain quiet. You’ve both been given a shot and don’t want it.”

If @GamebredFighter and @TheNotoriousMMA don’t want to fight him, @USMAN84kg suggests they stop talking. https://t.co/CZiUxiyXz4

Since UFC 245 and his win over Colby Covington, Usman hasn’t fought, and it seems that he feels ready to step into the ring once again. Colby was calling him out during the COVID-19 pause, but the champ didn’t respond.

Also, Tyron Woodley wanted to face Usman. It was the Nigerian who took away his belt in a direct meeting, which is why the Chosen One pushes for a rematch.

He has a chance to earn that against Gilbert Burns, this weekend, in a match which is considered to be a title-eliminator.

According to all seen in this situation, Usman is ready for another fight, but not at all costs. He wants a good opponent who is attractive and who is capable of drawing a huge interest, all in order to make a huge spectacle. All eyes are on Conor now, but the Irish ex-champ is quiet.

Both these guys don’t have any matches in the near future and are available to make a show. It is up to Dana White to see and assess whether it is possible to organize such an event. So far, there haven’t been any reactions from his side, and in the end, he is the one who calls all the shots.
